We stayed just outside the town of Amalfi, one of the many picturesque towns dotting the coast.
View from one end of our hotel room balcony...
...and the other.
We had breakfast on the terrace in the mornings.
We sampled the local specialty, limoncello.
Bouganvilla grows everywhere. We tried to grow this in Seattle once but it died over the winter.
We spent some time sunbathing, the weather was perfect.
We saw several wedding parties, including this couple getting their pictures taken on the church steps.
It's fast and easy to take a ferry (or bus) to the other towns along the coast.
Our favorite town was Ravello which is nested high up in the hills...
...with breathtaking views.
While in Ravello, we visited Villa Cimbrone...
...and then bought some local ceramics. Then the rest of the day I was agonizing over the thought that we got ripped off, but Tim convinced me we weren't.
We kept seeing the city waste people in Rome sweeping with this style of broom, it reminds me of something out of a Grimm Brothers fairy tale.
All in all a great trip, but I'm always so glad to be back home too.

The Amalfi coast is just so beautiful!
Jenny said it! It's breathtaking. I am getting goosebumps just thinking what it must be like to actually be there. The ceramics are so pretty. Tell us about the people... Did you get to interact with any?
I love seeing all of the pictures. Share as many as you would like. I don't think any of us will tire of seeing them. They are so breathtaking. This is making me wish to take a trip there. Thank you so much for sharing them with us. And I also would love to hear about the people and the culture and your interactions with them and thoughts about them, anything funny that happened, etc.
Such breathtaking views - wow!!! Looks like so much fun, does it suck to be back to reality?
So, how did we feel about the limoncello? I love lemon and was SO excited for it. But, I'm a lightweight and it was too strong for me!
You could be a travel writer you know ;)
Sounds like a *lovely* trip! I was on the Amalfi cost about 9 years ago. It's really a magical little place.

I'm getting nostalgic looking at your pictures! I lived in Naples, Italy for 3 years and made the short drive to the Amalfi Coast often. I miss it so!
