Lavender Label seersucker silk

I know several of us ordered the Lavender Label 'seersucker silk' from fabric.com and were kind of disappointed in the quality - very sheer and not seersucker-like at all. I was at Nordstrom Rack in Seattle a few days ago and came across some Vera Wang Lavender Label garments, including this skirt made of said fabric. I thought it would be helpful to show what is possible for this fabric. (It's lined of course.) I was considering returning mine to fabric.com, but now I'm reconsidering...

I'm so glad that you found an example of the fabric use in RTW! I didn't buy that particular piece...but think that batch of fabrics is touch and go and should be bought without a particular garment in mind so that you can make a creative adjustment when they arrive.

Underlining is also a option with a light fabric.

Check out McCall's 5631 for a skirt pattern that looks very similar to that one.

I bought the cotton seersucker, and it's definitely seersucker.

The return policy at fabric.com is very nice.

A very interesting observation, I really like the look of the shirt and the subtle striping gives the fabric a nice 3D-effect.
