I stopped by Nordstrom Rack after work to check out the shoes, then I decided to make a pass through women's apparel. Technically it wasn't a "pass through" as I think I ended up spending an hour in there. But I didn't have anywhere I needed to be, so whatever.

I came across this silk jersey dress and instantly recognized the print...
...the same as some silk charmeuse that I purchased at Mike's Fabrics in Los Angeles during PR Weekend.
Right next to it was a silk jersey dress with a very familiar chain print...
...oh yeah, I bought that silk jersey at Michael Levine in LA.
I flicked through a few more garments on the rack when I came to this...
...a slightly different colorway but the same print as the silk jersey that Leslie purchased at Michael Levine and turned into an amazing DVF-style wrap top.
All three of these silk jersey garments were by Halé Bob, originally $212, marked down to $69.
(I sound calm about this now but I was this close to calling some of my PR Weekend friends from the basement of Nordstrom Rack tonight!)

What I find so great about that is that it proves how much closer to the supply chain we're getting in terms of fabric availability, and the proximity you have to fabric stores who purchase from jobbers. :) these are fabrics that would never and will never show up at Joanns.
I remember last year when Gorgeous Fabrics had all those chain print polyester knits Before we saw them showing up in the Macys catalogue.
I esp love that top print that you have in charmeuse. What are you going to do with it?

Yes, it is really cool. I know the feeling. Like Marji said, I had the same thing happen with items I saw at Macy's. You are so lucky to have a Nordstrom near you. We have to drive 7 hours to the closest one, which we do about once every year or every other year depending on our mood.

Cool! One of my favorite stores in the garment district (NY) is Paron's, which lists the designer who used it on the bolt. Did that information recently influence my buying a wool bouclé by Missoni? You betcha!
That *is* very very cool. But, annoys me that I showed so much restraint in LA and purchased none of these.
I just love it when I purchase fabric and find the same print in stores (it makes me feel like I've got a bargain on my hands! LOL. Now I wish I had access to some of those prints!

Excellent sleuthing! It is confirmation of what fabulous taste we have. I think it's funny that we now have at least two confirmed designers that used the same fabric. Now we just need to get further up on the chain. And you have my permission to call whenever you are in the Rack, Off fifth, Last Call, etc. Especially if you happen to find chie mihara or frye shoes for cheap. :-)
I agree that this proves that you have fantastic taste. I can't wait until I have the kind of fabric stash that I'm able to see these kind of parallels. Too cool.

(I was in the Rack the other day to do some shopping and seriously the lighting in there is SOOOOOO unflattering that it's a wonder that I bought anything at all?!
