A girl can wear only so many tent dresses and airy blouses in a given year. I feel myself drifting towards more fitted styles again; style 117 from the 9/2007 BWOF came along at just the right time.
After my initial concern about the front pleats in my muslin, I decided to add about half an inch of ease to the bodice just by sewing the seams a bit more narrow. And as you can see, no more pointy pleats!
Fabric
Fashion fabric: Military green wool flannel (or something similar) from the Pacific Fabric Outlet
Lining: Bemberg rayon
Alterations/design changes
The center back seam is cut as a long straight line. (An invisble zipper is inserted in this seam). This straight line caused "gaposis" at the back of the neckline, so I curved the seam at the top, taking out about an inch from each side.
Conclusion
I am seriously loving this dress. I'd considering making this one again in a summer/warm weather fabric next year.

Beautiful dress Christina! I wish I'd bought the issue while it was on the racks. That dress is just perfect and you look fabulous in it - but then, don't you always! :)
Christina, I'm so glad you stuck with it and made the "real" dress. It turned out beautifully and looks fantastic on you. I just order this issue from Sewbaby and plan to make this dress.

I, too, am glad you stuck with it. This is a fantastic dress. It looks absolutely beautiful on you. Do make another, and hang on to this pattern, it is a keeper. Be sure to write the information about the narrower seems on the pattern so you do not forget what you did.
